Last month we celebrated this kind of Green:green beer

In April, traditionally celebrating our lovely environment we’re looking at earthier versions of everything wonderfully and naturally green. Today we’re looking at this kind of green. This power drink will help get you beyond the hump and recover from the worst April fools jokes.recipe-healthy-kale-smoothie

From Luvo, an all natural company out of Il. backed by heavies like Derek Jeter, Jennifer Garner, we present the greenest of green recipes: the Gateway Green Drink Recipe. Thanks.

We’ve all had a sip of someone’s wretched smoothie concoction and it usually tastes like ground-up celery, manure, and Ghostbusters slime. It tends to turn you green … in a bad way. But I can I assure you that’s not what I am drinking anymore, at least not after learning what it takes to make green juice delicious.

To help you speed up the learning process and get to the tasty green drink zone faster, here’s a quick and easy recipe that will leave you fully nourished with a smile on your face because it tastes awesome!

A handful of kale
A little less than a handful of spinach
A couple stalks of celery
½ a cucumber
½ a cup of parsley
1 apple
Juice from ½ a lemon

This concoction is best made with a juicer, but a strong blender will do. If the taste is not to your liking, add some coconut water or a pear or a swig of agave or honey.

If enjoying in public…at work… on the train… you may want to conceal this concoction in a travel mug if you don’t want the stares.

Enjoy. Go Green!
